People Before Profit has launched its election manifesto with a commitment to seek the end of 100 years of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael.
These two parties are virtually identical but engage in a fake form of hostility while the election is underway. Afterwards, they aim to form a coalition.
People Before Profit is seeking to break this cycle of endless right-wing rule. It is the only party that guarantees that a vote for our TDs will not be used to put FF or FG into power.
The manifesto is a comprehensive agenda for change for a left government. The commitments made in the manifesto include the following;
• Abolish the USC for those earning less than €100,000 and introduce a wealth tax on multi-millionaires that can raise €8bn.
• Use the Apple tax to establish and capitalise a state construction company to build 30,000 social and 5,000 affordable homes annually.
• Remove income limits to provide universal access to public housing.
• Tackle the cost of living crisis by capping prices on essentials such as food and energy, and cap mortgage interest rates at 3%.
