Packed meeting for United Left Launch Meeting in North Central

Over 85 people braved the bad weather to attend the official launch of the United Left Alliance in Dublin North Central.

There was standing room only in the Donnycarney Community & Youth Centre as John Lyons, the People Before Profit candidate, introduced the speakers on the night.

Cllr Clare Daly, Socialist Party candidate for Dublin North, and Kieran Allen, People Before Profit, spoke of the exciting prospects for the ULA in the upcoming general election, the challenges that face the people of Ireland and the alternatives to the austerity measures being forced upon the people by the political establishment. John Lyons, as a first-time candidate, gave a brief introduction of himself and laid out his reasons for contesting the election: namely, that it is time for real and radical change in Irish politics, that the interests of the people must come before the bailing out the banks, that the ULA will fight for a fairer, more equal society.

No longer will the people be satisfied with the lies being spun by the Irish elite that There Is No Alternative.

There is an alternative – the United Left Alliance.
