Charges Against Palestine Activists Dismissed

Congratulations to Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin and another Palestine activist who had their charges dismissed in court today. They were falsely charged for public order offences for taking part in a BDS protest outside of McDonald’s at the beginning of the year. A Garda who was due to provide evidence didn’t even bother to turn up to court.

In bringing these charges the Gardaí have shown they are ready to go after activists who stand and act in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Yet when fascists attack migrants and harass library staff they stand by and take no action. There are still activists  who are fighting serious charges related to Palestine activism and we must continue to offer them our solidarity by helping with case defence funds, standing at the courts with them etc.
