Carlow/Kilkenny candidate Cllr Wallace says time to end 100 years of FF/FG
People Before Profit-Solidarity candidate Cllr Adrienne Wallace for Carlow/Kilkenny said “This week People Before Profit-Solidarity announced that it will stand a candidate in almost every constituency in the state. We will have candidates in 41 constituencies, 19 women and 22 men.
Cllr Wallace said “We believe this may be the largest electoral challenge by the socialist left in the history of the state, and I am proud to be part of this. In common with our other candidates, I will be offering voters a left alternative to end 100 years of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael rule in this country.”
She added “The housing crisis will be central to our election campaign. We commit to bringing in rent controls to reduce rents and to ban no-fault evictions. We would use the Apple tax to create a state construction company to directly build at least 35,000 social and affordable homes per year – homes that are urgently needed. We are also on track to missing all of our Greenhouse Gas Emission target reductions, the Green party have failed to deliver on their mandate to tackle climate change. We are the only political party willing to stand up to the fossil fuel industries and the data centers responsible”
Cllr Wallace concluded “While other opposition parties are still refusing to rule out future coalition deals with Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael, People Before Profit-Solidarity guarantee not to prop them up, and instead we are giving the Irish people a clear choice and a genuine left alternative in the forthcoming general election. Another Ireland is possible”.
